Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy

1. Policy Statement

Traverse Designs is committed to preventing acts of modern slavery and human trafficking from occurring within its business and supply chain. We impose the same high standards on our suppliers. This policy applies to all persons working for us or on our behalf in any capacity, including employees, contractors, external consultants, third-party representatives, and business partners.

2. Definitions

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as:

– Slavery, servitude, and forced or compulsory labour

– Human trafficking

– Exploitation, which includes sexual exploitation, forced labour, domestic servitude, and organ harvesting

– Sale and exploitation of children

– Debt bondage

3. Responsibility for the Policy

As the business owner, I have overall responsibility for ensuring this policy complies with our legal and ethical obligations, and that all those under our control comply with it.

I have primary responsibility for implementing this policy, monitoring its use and effectiveness, dealing with any queries about it, and auditing internal control systems and procedures to ensure they are effective in countering modern slavery.

4. Compliance with the Policy

You must ensure that you read, understand, and comply with this policy.

The prevention, detection, and reporting of modern slavery in any part of our business or supply chains is the responsibility of all those working for us or under our control. You are required to avoid any activity that might lead to, or suggest, a breach of this policy.

You must notify me as soon as possible if you believe or suspect that a conflict with this policy has occurred or may occur in the future.

5. Communication and Awareness of this Policy

Training on this policy, and on the risk our business faces from modern slavery in its supply chains, forms part of the induction process for all individuals who work for us, and regular training will be provided as necessary.

Our commitment to addressing the issue of modern slavery in our business and supply chains must be communicated to all suppliers, contractors, and business partners at the outset of our business relationship with them and reinforced as appropriate thereafter.

6. Due Diligence Processes for Slavery and Human Trafficking

We have in place systems to:

– Identify and assess potential risk areas in our supply chains

– Mitigate the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains

– Monitor potential risk areas in our supply chains

– Protect whistle blowers

7. Actions to Report Modern Slavery or Human Trafficking

7.1. Direct Communication

Traverse Designs encourages all its workers, customers, and other business partners to report any concerns related to the direct activities or the supply chains of the business. This includes any circumstances that may give rise to an enhanced risk of slavery or human trafficking. Our whistleblowing procedure is designed to make it easy for workers to make disclosures, without fear of retaliation.

7.2. Reporting Concerns

Employees, customers, or others who have concerns can contact customercare@traverse-designs.com. All reports will be fully investigated and appropriate remedial actions taken.

8. Safeguards

Traverse Designs aims to encourage openness and will support anyone who raises genuine concerns in good faith under this policy, even if they turn out to be mistaken. We are committed to ensuring no one suffers any detrimental treatment as a result of reporting their suspicion that modern slavery of whatever form is or may be taking place in any part of our own business or in any of our supply chains.

9. Breaches of this Policy

Any individual who breaches this policy will face appropriate action, which could result in termination of contracts or business relationships.

We may terminate our relationship with other individuals and organisations working on our behalf if they breach this policy.

10. Review and Monitoring

We will review this policy annually to ensure its effectiveness and compliance with legal requirements.

11. Changes

This Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy is non-contractual and Traverse Designs reserves the right to amend it at any time.
